Spaghetti Alla Carbonara

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to package directions: omit salt and fat.
  • 2 drain pasta in a colander over o bowl reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
  • 3 heat a large non-stick skillet over medium high.
  • 4 add the ham and cook for 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  • 5 add the pasta and stir well.
  • 6 combine the cheese through garlic stirring with a whisk.
  • 7 pour egg mixture over pasta and stir well.
  • 8 cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens stirring constantly--do not boil.
  • 9 sprinkle with pepper.
