Pori Chikki

Total Time: 12 mins Preparation Time: 2 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice, puffed (murmura, mumra, mamra or pori)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Recipe

  • 1 the puffed rice should be crunchy, if not, roast in 200f oven for 20 minutes.
  • 2 powder puffed rice coarsely.
  • 3 heat oil in fry pan.
  • 4 add sugar and stir.
  • 5 when it turns brown, add pori and stir well.
  • 6 transfer to a greased or silicone pan/plate.
  • 7 cut into pieces.
  • 8 variations: peanuts, cashews, roasted edamame, pretzels, rice crackers, wasabi peas, coconut, raisins, almonds, pecans etc etc.
  • 9 when cool, store in a jar.
  • 10 i can be kept for 2 weeks.
