Steamed Brown Rice

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 55 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 4 1/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  • 2 add rice and stir until it begins to crackle, about two minutes.
  • 3 add water and seasonings.
  • 4 cover pot, bring to a boil and reduce heat to a low simmer.
