Seriously Simple Black Beans

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 cups presoaked black beans
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 4 tablespoons garlic
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 bunch fresh cilantro

Recipe

  • 1 simmer beans in water with salt, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper until tender then drain excess water.
  • 2 sautee garlic and onions in olive oil until caramelized.
  • 3 add caramelized onions and garlic and chopped cilantro.
  • 4 serve over rice and enjoy.
