Rice Pudding

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Recipe

  • 1 in a 3 quart saucepan,over medium heat,heat milk,rice,sugar,butter and salt.
  • 2 cook until tiny bubbles form around the edge,stirring frequently.
  • 3 reduce heat to low,cover and simmer 1 hour or until rice is very tender,stirring occasionally.
  • 4 stir in vanilla.
  • 5 cover and refrigerate until well chilled,about 3 hours.
  • 6 garnish with nutmeg.
