Rice Pudding

Ingredients

- 6 cups milk
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Recipe
- 1 in a 3 quart saucepan,over medium heat,heat milk,rice,sugar,butter and salt.
- 2 cook until tiny bubbles form around the edge,stirring frequently.
- 3 reduce heat to low,cover and simmer 1 hour or until rice is very tender,stirring occasionally.
- 4 stir in vanilla.
- 5 cover and refrigerate until well chilled,about 3 hours.
- 6 garnish with nutmeg.
