Russian Tea Biscuits

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 boil the raisins and water for 5 minutes and let cool. then add the baking soda.
  • 2 creme together the butter, sugar, eggs.
  • 3 add other ingredients and raisins (make sure the raisins are completely cool).
  • 4 drop by small spoonfuls onto a baking sheet and press them flat.
  • 5 bake at 400°f until brown on edges.
  • 6 let sit on tray before transferring to a cooling rack.
