Portuguese Spiced Rice

Ingredients

- 1 cup rice
- 2 3/4 cups water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 1 dash garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ketchup
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 (10 ounce) can sliced mushrooms or 1 (10 ounce) can baby clams, rinsed
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, diced (any colour) (optional)
Recipe
- 1 combine all of the ingredients in a large microwavable casserole dish with a lid. cook in the microwave on high for 18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. fluff with a fork and serve.
