Spicy Green Rice

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 cups rice
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 cup mint leaf
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 6 cloves
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cardamoms
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 10 green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 6 cups water
  • salt
  • 1 javitri

Recipe

  • 1 blanch spinach leaves, mint leaves and corriander leaves.
  • 2 grind to a paste.
  • 3 in a heavy bottomed vessel, heat oil.
  • 4 add cloves, cardamoms, cinnamons, javitri and the ginger-garlic paste.
  • 5 saute for a while.
  • 6 add chopped onions and slit green chillies.
  • 7 fry till light golden brown in colour.
  • 8 then, add the green paste.
  • 9 cook for a few minutes.
  • 10 add the washed, cleanedand drained rice.
  • 11 then add the water and salt.
  • 12 cook till rice is done.
  • 13 serve hot, garnished with corriander leaves.
