Simple Brown Rice Pilaf

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 cup instant brown rice
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon minced onion flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- salt & fresh ground pepper
Recipe
- 1 mix chicken stock and next 5 ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil.
- 2 add rice, return mixture to boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes (for instant rice-- follow package recommended cooking times for other brown rice varieties).
- 3 remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
- 4 fluff with fork.
- 5 season with salt and pepper to taste.
