Simple Brown Rice Pilaf

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup instant brown rice
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • salt & fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 mix chicken stock and next 5 ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • 2 add rice, return mixture to boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes (for instant rice-- follow package recommended cooking times for other brown rice varieties).
  • 3 remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
  • 4 fluff with fork.
  • 5 season with salt and pepper to taste.
