Ingredients

- 3 cups basmati rice, washed and drained
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cardamoms
- 5 tablespoons ghee
- 5 cups coconut milk
- 8 cloves
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- salt
Recipe
- 1 pour ghee in a pan.
- 2 add cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon.
- 3 stir-fry for a minute.
- 4 add onion and saute till transparent and lightly brown for 5 minutes.
- 5 add the remaining ingredients.
- 6 bring to a boil.
- 7 lower flame.
- 8 cover.
- 9 cook till all the coconut milk is absorbed by the rice.
- 10 serve hot with plain low-fat yogurt.
