Spoon Bread With Green Chiles, Corn And Cheese

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (1 lb) can cream-style corn
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 combine corn, milk, shortening, eggs, cornmeal, soda, baking powder, salt, drained chiles and cheese.
  • 3 mix well.
  • 4 pour into greased 9-inch square pan.
  • 5 bake for 45 minutes until golden.
  • 6 serve hot.
