Spicy Chick-peas And Rice

Ingredients

- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups long grain brown rice, cooked
- 1 (16 ounce) can chickpeas, drained
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (fresh)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
Recipe
- 1 saute the onion and garlic in olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender.
- 2 stir in the cooked rice and the remaining ingredients. cover the skillet, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
