Stewed "stufato" Fava Beans

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 8 ounces dry fava beans, large size
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon basil, fresh and chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary (optional)
- crushed red pepper flakes, dash
- 1 cup water
- 1 goya chicken bouillon cube
- salt and pepper
- 4 cups water, to cook beans
Recipe
- 1 sort and rinse beans.
- 2 .bring 4 cups water to boil in large saucepan.
- 3 stir in beans and boil for 10 minutes.
- 4 drain and rinse in cold water.
- 5 peel outer skin of lava beans and throw out skins.
- 6 heat olive oil in large saucepan.
- 7 add scallions and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
- 8 add beans and remaining ingredient to pan.
- 9 bring ingredients to boil, cover and low heat and simmer until beans are tender.
- 10 add more water if needed.
- 11 serve over steamed rice.
